I’m a big fan of RAW since I read Cosmic Trigger years back and reading Erik Davies’ High Weirdness has certainly peaked my interest in him again, but it’s funny to see how far off he was in some of his predictions for the future. The idea of land becoming worthless seems ridiculous now in an era of stupidly high property prices. Also I don’t see my landlord curtailing my rent anytime soon! And people still drive to office buildings despite the ability to hold meetings online and communicate almost entirely without having to see anybody, there still seems to be a need for humans to gather together even if work doesn’t demand it any more. Though he was right about money eventually moving onto computers I fail to see how he thought that would correlate with the ending of interest? Virtual money still acquires virtual interest.
Anyway, an enjoyable sojourn through the mind of one of psychedelic heroes!
