PROGRAM NOTES:
[NOTE: All quotations are by Terence McKenna.]
“History is anomalous, and there is no way to get used to it.”
“The miracle of our predicament is not how long everything has been in place but how brief it all has been.”
“Each stage of cosmic development proceeded more quickly than the stage which preceded it.”
“A singularity is a place where the rules are broken. A miracle is a singularity.”
“That’s part of the nature of a fractal cosmos, nothing is utterly unannounced.”
“History is a series of approximations of the final singularity.”
“I believe in extraterrestrials, but I believe that real extraterrestrials are so peculiar that the job is to recognize them.”
“So when you look at the eschaton what you see, strangely enough, is your own face.”
“The things I encounter that I call elves or gnomes, it’s just a gloss. I mean, they’re small, and they have the archetype. They’re more like leprechauns, and this maybe raises a racial issue.”

You know, in this elf rap i really appreciated finally confronting one of the great mckenna questions. A participant asked “do i see elves because of your books” and mckenna in full form says “i didnt see elves after i read my books” and that elves are definitely one of these “archetypal phenomenon”. As he continued and mentioned that he felt that he was entering into a bardo. A bardo in tibetan buddhism is akin to what quantum physics would call a dimension. After hearing Lorenzo in the comments section rightfully mention that many dont see elves I thought well, perhaps mckenna was hitting “aisle 7” so to speak. meaning that, in the “Ecology of souls”, as Mckenna put it, is one level of access, or dimension of being, or “Is-ness”. The elves who spoke to terence were then perhaps on a specific dimensionality/frequence, but perhaps there are many planes of being, the Plant teachers, the mineral teachers, the Elves, the deities, and the big giant light bulb, I’m sure a few of you have been there =)
It seems to me that during and after La Chorrera both Terence and Dennis became obsessed with essentially “manifesting an object” into existence. Something like, to bring the “dmt” dimensionality into this world “On the natch”, would crush the rational mind into forceful submission. Then the million dollar question for Dennis, is when did this “request” to manifest an object begin. Did Terence already see elves before La Chorrera, or did this begin after the “experiment”? If after, it may be that In Terences intent to further explore this possibility to “get something tangible that no one has seen before” could have brought him to a specific elven dimension where “objects” are made, that is after all the “elves” side of the santa clause story. This of course, is from the perspective of the dimensions being “out there”. From the reverse perspective, It may be mckennas christmas fantasy come to full life =) Elves in the workshop making toys for all the boys and girls. Either way, it seems like that archetype is either ALIVE, or in Terences head at least.
Good reasoning with the machine.

[COMMENT by Lorenzo: Interesting comment, good questions.]
I’ve never seen elves, leprechauns, ghosts, souls, or any other entities. I’m usually in an abstract room with “spirit machines” that disassemble and reassemble me in a comical fashion.
It’s my humble opinion that our own consciousness creates whatever it wants to see in the dream. If it wants to see elves, it sees elves. We create our own waking lives.
Wow, the description at the end of this talk is one of Terence’s best raps ever. Thanks Lorenzo!
Happy New Year Lorenzo! I really dug the last 3 Terence McKenna episodes. Thank you. Wishing you all the very best in 2015 and beyond my friend! ~E
Dear Lorenzo – Happy New Years! Thanks as always for the McKenna talk, it was exceptionally lucid this time round. Thank you also for your heartfelt conclusion on race relations and the portrayal of black people in the media. My girlfriend (who is black, not that it matters) loves to watch certain day time talk shows like Maury Povich for a good laugh and I always have a gut feeling that not only are shows like that a circus sideshow of exploitation, but are deeply injurious to our minds as far as imprinting goes (for the same reasons you gave). If you tell a lie a thousand times, often it quickly becomes agreed upon as truth.
…now on a funnier note: have you ever considered how you’ve turned McKenna into a sort of Psychedelic Tupac? I always laugh to think of Terence as a hologram living on through internet, putting out new and relevant material all the time from beyond the grave. Knowledge is like a seed, you can throw it out whenever, but until it finds receptive soil and good conditions, it lays dormant.
[COMMENT by Lorenzo: 🙂 ]
Thank you for this podcast Lorenzo, and happy new year! I’ve been a brand new saloner all along this year and it’s my first comment. Now I can’t wait every week to listen to your voice and the ‘new’ Mckenna material.
I like your ‘old man stories’ and your discerning critique of every conference, keep up the good job! (I’m sure you’ll do)
a new year, and a new Tmack podcast! thanks lorenzo for continuing with your podcast for so long.
[COMMENT by Lorenzo: It’s my pleasure . . . best hobby I’ve ever had :-).]
