Widely acclaimed as one of the most important pioneers in the early research into psychedelic medicines, Gary Fisher in his later life was also a gifted artist. He sold most of his paintings, and for very respectable rates. One day, as I was leaving his apartment after a visit, he handed me a small plastic grocery bag containing a pile of photographs. And he said, “You can throw these away if you want to, but they are pictures of many of my paintings. I usually tried to get a good photo of a painting before it sold.” What you see below are scans of these photos. To my knowledge, this is the only large photographic collection of Gary’s work that is online.
